Hydrogen is one of the most promising clean energy carriers of our time. Yet, turning this potential into reality at scale remains difficult. Current hydrogen storage solution and transport methods demand enormous infrastructure investments, rely on extreme conditions such as 700 bar compression or −253 °C liquefaction, and still suffer from low energy density.

As a result, today’s hydrogen systems waste energy through constant evaporation, rely on risky transport methods that carry serious safety concerns, and depend on massive new pipeline networks that take decades to build.

In essence, hydrogen’s vast potential is not limited by its promise but by the way we store and move it today, it’s a challenge solved through safe hydrogen storage.

Introducing Bonded H₂, our innovative solid hydrogen storage system.

Bonded H₂ stores hydrogen chemically within a stable solid carrier, enabling liquid-hydrogen-class volumetric storage and transport without cryogenic temperatures or ultra-high-pressure tanks at the customer site.

At the point of use, the carrier enters a compact reactor where a controlled water-activated reaction releases high-purity hydrogen according to demand.

After hydrogen release, the spent carrier material is collected and returned for regeneration. Bonded H₂ is developing a proprietary regeneration process designed to restore the carrier efficiently and cost-effectively for reuse in subsequent supply cycles. This creates a circular hydrogen storage system based on carrier reuse.

Hydrogen storage and transport remain the bottleneck.

Hydrogen can play a major role in decarbonising industry, mobility and distributed power. But hydrogen storage and transport remain expensive, energy-intensive and dependent on specialised infrastructure.

Conventional hydrogen storage solutions rely primarily on high-pressure compression, cryogenic liquefaction or dedicated pipeline infrastructure. Compressed hydrogen may require pressures of up to 700 bar, while liquid hydrogen must be maintained at approximately −253 °C. These methods add energy consumption, equipment costs and logistics complexity before the hydrogen reaches the end user.
The result is a hydrogen logistics bottleneck: hydrogen may be available at the production site, but delivering it reliably and economically to decentralised users remains difficult.
